Still missing your insurance?
German public health insurance often covers only part of the costs abroad and never a transport back home. Travel health insurance for longer stays and work abroad closes that gap.

It is that simple.
Two questions. Then board the plane.
Moving for a job comes down to two things: What will I earn? Where will I live? Once both are clear, you pack your case and the next day you are at your first shift. Many job sites, agencies and employers make exactly that hard. Here, pay and housing sit right at the top of every job.
Every job tells you whether a room is provided, what it costs and whether meals are included. No flat hunting on arrival, no sleeping on a friend's sofa.
After a layoff the clock starts ticking: unemployment benefit runs out, and then money gets tight. A job with a room can be the step that carries you through. With a fixed wage, a roof over your head and people who expect you on day one.
This is what a fresh start feels like.
Arriving
Someone holds the door open for you.
You get off the bus, pull your suitcase across the cobbles, and someone is already waiting for you at the door. No open-plan office, no door code, no name badge at reception. With Job & Stay you know before you leave who your employer is, what you will earn and where you will sleep. You clarify pay, room and start date directly with the business beforehand, ideally in black and white. So your first day does not begin with hunting for a flat, but with a coffee in the kitchen and someone asking whether you found the place all right. Someone shows you the house, the way to the bakery and the bench with the best view. The air smells different, the mountains or the sea are right there, and for the first time in a long while a fresh start feels less like a risk and more like something to look forward to.
Living
Your room is already waiting.
A bed, a wardrobe, a table by the window and the meadow outside. That is all you need at the start. The listing shows what the business says about the room, often with monthly price and deposit. If something is missing, ask the business directly before you say yes: whether you live alone or share, and whether meals are included. The accommodation is provided by the business, not by Job & Stay. If the room is in your contract, you do not have to hunt for a flat, call an estate agent or pay three months' rent up front. Often the room is in the same building or a few minutes' walk away. You arrive, get the key, put down your bag, hang your jacket on the hook and open the window. Outside, cowbells ring or the sea rolls in. You are here, and tomorrow something new begins.
Belonging
You will not sit alone in the evening.
When you work with a room included, you often eat together too. Once the last guest has gone, the table in the kitchen is laid one more time. At the long table sit the cook from Naples, the colleague from Lyon, the ski instructor from Innsbruck and someone who was sitting in an office just like you six months ago. There is pasta from the big pot, a glass of wine and plenty to talk about: the day, home and the next place. On your day off you go hiking, swimming or to the market in the next village together. Colleagues become friends you still call years later. If you want, you stay longer than planned. And some move on together after the season, from the snow to the sea and back to the mountains in autumn.
Three rules. No exceptions.
1
The place to stay is sorted.
A room comes with the job, or the pay demonstrably covers a flat in that place. Otherwise we reject the listing.
2
Ads, not an agency.
We publish ads and forward applications. We do not preselect anyone and take no commission. Your contract is only with the business.
3
You know where you stand.
Pay, start date and duration are in every listing; you sign the employment contract directly with the business. Whether it is fixed-term for a season or permanent is stated in the listing. People who do good work are often asked back for the next season.
Permanent office jobs are getting scarcer. If you are laid off after years at a desk, you do not need another CV contest. You need something that carries you now and feels good.
Less pay than before, yes. In return a room, a new place and work you look forward to in the morning.

Every job shows the pay right at the top whenever the employer states it. Verified hospitality minimums: in Switzerland CHF 3,713 to 4,528 gross per month (L-GAV), in Tyrol from €2,096.50 gross per month (collective agreement). With a room and meals provided, much more of it is left. The pay calculator shows the figures for each country, with sources.
Where will I live?
In 364 of 445 jobs the employer provides a staff room, a flat or other accommodation, often free or cheap, sometimes with meals. In 24 more the employer helps you find housing. The type and cost of housing are shown right under the title of every job.
Does it cost anything?
No. Job & Stay is always free for job seekers, with no commission and no subscription. Never pay money upfront, neither to us nor to an employer.
How do I apply?
Directly with the employer. For many jobs you send the form on the job page, Job & Stay forwards your application by email to the business, and the reply comes straight to you. For the others a link takes you to the application on the employer's website. An AI assistant can also do this for you through our MCP interface, if you agree.
Do I need a visa?
With citizenship of an EU or EEA country or Switzerland you may work in all countries of our jobs without a visa. In Switzerland, depending on the length of stay, you need a registration or a residence permit, handled by the employer and the local authority. If you come from another country you usually need a work permit, which the employer normally has to apply for. Ask before you apply.
Are there house sitting jobs?
Yes, but paid ones are rare. Job & Stay currently has 6 jobs as caretaker on an estate, campsite manager and similar, with pay and a home on site, plus 27 jobs with horses, on farms and on boats. Pure house sitting without pay is a swap, not a job. Our magazine article explains the difference and how to spot fake offers.
